THE NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM INSECT EXHIBITION
This is a passion project that I have created as I love insects and I love type so found a way to combine the two so that I could share my interests with people who normally wouldn’t think about the beauty of insects. The purpose of this was to use the finished type to advertise an insect event/ exhibition.
Below are the key visuals that I created that I have rolled out across a number of touchpoints.
I wanted the type to almost be a work of art, beautiful and unique, just like the insects themselves. And for the letters to stand out and hold their own. Adding in a hand-drawn effect of the insect's anatomy to enforce the idea that the letters are insect-inspired. But also shows a more playful side, like a child has drawn on the top of the poster, giving a grown-up structured feel alongside the playful to invite the children to explore and want to see the exhibition.
‘miniature universe’ inspired the rest of the design, adding background texture to represent galaxies and stars, giving the letters their own little world to sit within.
